I just purchased a Norinco SKS receiver and the FFL dealer pointed something out about the serial number. The SN consists of 000's, followed by a very low digit (not sure if its 'safe' to state the exact SN). I recently bought a Norinco MAK 90 Sporter, the first two numbers of the serial number are '94', no flash hider, no bayonet lug and it has the thumbhole stock. Please correct me if I am wrong here, I am under the impression that it is a post 1989 ban gun but a pre 94 Clinton Ban gun. Mar 16, 2021 These days, doing a Norinco SKS serial number lookup is easy online. The Chinese marked each rifle with a factory symbol stamp along with an SKS 4-digit serial number. The challenge is this: the countries that received these rifles from China didn’t have most of the documents with the production details.
