If your outdoor equipment has a 2-cycle engine, it runs on a mixture of oil and gas. Here’s how to properly mix the fuel.

Step 1: Determine the proper mixing ratio for your unit.
This ratio indicates how much fresh, regular unleaded gasoline (containing no more than 10% ethanol) to mix with how much oil. For all Remington 2-cycle products, the ratio is 40:1. This means you’ll want to add 3.2 oz of oil to every gallon of gasoline. (See table below.)

Note that the engine takes a 50:1 fuel/oil ratio, the same type of two-stroke fuel reserved for professional chainsaws and leaf blowers. If you own professional-duty equipment, you won’t need a. Most require a 40 to 1 ratio in order to keep the engine lubricated. This ratio means that the trimmer requires 40 ounces of gasoline to one ounce of oil. It needs to be fresh regular unleaded gasoline with no more than a 10 percent alcohol content. You should not use diesel fuel.

Toro Weed Wacker Fuel Oil Ratio For 2 Cycle Engines

The proper proportion of gas and oil is 50-to-1, which means for each 1 gallon of gas, you need to add 2.6 ounces of two-cycle engine oil. Toro recommends having a premium quality synthetic lubricant that is two-cycle. Don’t use lubricants made for outboard motors or automobiles. Mix the oil and gas in a resealable container and do not prepare more than you can use in a 30-day period. (Ref 1, p. 14)
